Lizzy is 11!

Lizzy had a birthday this week and we had a fun time celebrating her special day. The nice thing about being on an intimate campus of 175+ people on your birthday is that there are lots of folks to celebrate alongside you. It was one of our first chances to really see how the community of our colleagues can really provide such a loving family feel. I think that Lizzy felt very loved all day long!

Since her birthday was on Monday, we decided to have a little party on Sunday afternoon. Here are a few pictures of the fun!

Everything's ready for our friends to come by! We had simple cupcakes since we have a very basic kitchen here. No mixer, no fancy buttercream wonders!

The girls did a craft where they decorated their first name initial. Here's Lizzy's while she was in process. They turned out so cute.
Nail polish, lots of nail polish!
Silly girl, pretending to eat the pancake eraser that her sister gave her!

I would post some more pictures of Lizzy with her friends, but the reality is, most of her friends here can't have their faces posted online safely. It's humbling to know that we work with folks who are willing to go to places where they are taking real risks to accomplish the tasks set before us. When you pray today, pray especially for Lizzy's new friends who are going to some of these difficult places. Thanks!
