Many of you have asked how you can help us over this next few days. There really isn't anything physical that we need. We are about 98% packed and other than some errands and some list making, most of the trip preparations are complete.
We are attempting to have a "normal" week. We are hosting Lily's 5th birthday party this week, and we are going to try to log 5 school days. We have our second unit celebration with our co-op, and we have a doctor's appointment. That's about it!
But, we do need prayer. Please pray specifically for my children. They have been very supportive and encouraging about the adoption from the start. We talked a lot about what it would look like and the sacrifice it would require along the way. And while they are very excited, they are also becoming very nervous. Last night two of them had "Will you still love me?" meltdowns. Pray that the Lord would just give them peace and that Ryan and I would have wisdom and encouragement for them. Pray that we would be able to balance our preparations with loving on them. Pray that I would not get worn out with them easily, as I tend to have a "put on your big girl panties" kind of mentality.
Thanks in advance for your prayers!

Christy: We had some issues with Squeeker too -- it's pretty normal, so I wouldn't get too worked up about it. While in Ethiopia in Nov 07, Squeekers said he wanted to leave Pickles there and go home without her! Now look at them...they are so close! When we got the referral for the two newest, he again had a few rough days. We talked about it, and found a way for him to go back to Africa with us to pick them up. They'll be ok...they are just experiencing some normal anxiety!
I will pray for a safe journey and adjustment when you return back home!
Can't remember when you all are leaving. Heather and I are praying for you and Ryan (& kids) as we get closer to our adoption as well. This process is so life changing and I am truly happy for you all!
Christy,
I am praying with you for all of your children, that they be filled with a perfect peace in this whole process. I pray protection over them from any foothold the enemy tries to place in their minds. and I pray Grace over them as a hedge of protection!!
God speed to ya....
